Skyfall

After what seems like an eternity, there was finally confirmation that the 23rd James Bond film is now in production for a late 2012 release. As expected the film will be titled "Skyfall" and Javier Bardem and Ralph Fiennes wil be in the cast.
Reaction to the title is mixed so far. Some like the simplicity and potential for graphic design while others think it sounds like a computer game or a crappy 1980s action film. There were no major surprises with most of the speculation proved correct. The press conference seemed a strangely low key affair after the long break with much luvvie backslapping and a near comotose Daniel Craig struggling to stay awake. Perhaps the biggest eyebrow raiser was that shooting is all but underway and yet Daniel Craig had grey stubble and a haircut that makes him look like a deranged convict who has just climbed over the wall and dodged searchlights. All will presumably be revealed. Maybe Bond annoyed his barber. The vague plot details that were divulged suggest the shadow of Jason Bourne still lingers and looms and provides inspiration and so those hoping for the producers and Daniel Craig to lighten up might be disappointed. All seemed confident that this would be a "special" Bond film though. After Quantum of Solace and the long break it probably needs to be.
